Hello everyone, it is time for the third Whisky retreat, and it is late already. Let's meet from the 22nd to the 24th of November at SISSA, in Trieste, Italy. We have room for up to ~30 people, which I think should easily fit. We cannot provide financial support. If you want to book a room in a guest house or hotel, I suggest to write to Lorena (bencina@sissa.it), mentioning the meeting and probably my name, or to me directly as soon as possible. Like the previous Whisky Retreats, this meeting should not be based on presentations of work already done (although, we do not want to exclude it). The main objective of the meeting should be to discuss about future plans / development directions of Whisky/WhiskyMHD. While this sounds more like a meeting for the 'top' people, I would like to welcome especially PhD-students, because they will be the future users of Whisky. There will also be an internet connection during the meeting, such that "hacking sessions" are possible and some issues might be solved already then. While I would not like to keep to a plan too tight, I would like to suggest some topics to discuss. However, this list is probably far from complete. Please append whatever comes to your mind or suggest to drop something. - Integration of MHD - Problems / possibilities of mesh refinement and Whisky (vertex vs. cell centered, ect.) - Split of Whisky (the base thorn) - Arrangement handling (stable / development) - Webpage - Licence - Higher-order hydro (>2nd order) I tried to have a mailing list set up at AEI named users@whiskycode.org, but in the last months there was not much progress, so do not expect that to happen very soon. The list of receipients of this email is probably not complete. Please forward this email to anyone who you think might be interested. Please indicate to me if you would like to come / still think about it / do not like to come, such that I have an estimate of the number of people. Frank Loeffler
